Pack-a-thon

Today Brett and I are having a pack-a-thon. We are not renewing our lease on the apartment so we will be moving somewhere . . . We will let you know details once we know more. But in the mean time, we are packing, packing, packing. Boxes are everywhere!

Lately

What has been going on lately . . .

1) worked some crazy over time
2) made a trip to Mountain Home, AR
3) celebrated mother’s day
4) worked the home school convention in Searcy, AR
5) had a wreck (no one was hurt)
6) Saw my brother in law graduate from high school

What will be going on . . .

1) riding the bus till the car gets fixed
2) going to see my cousin graduate from high school
3) go to the lake for three wonderful days with no phone, no internet, no work
4) working the home school convention in North West Arkansas
5) have two family reunions on the same day in different towns (haven’t figured that one out yet)
6) find a house to buy
7) have a baby shower for my sister in law
8) go to a wedding

Take a Deep Breath

The Wait family will be on high speed for the next month and a half. We have something major every weekend for the next 7 weeks. They are all good things, but they are going to take a lot of energy.

Along with 7 weeks full of activities, we are also house hunting. We need prayer and wisdom for this BIG decision.

Camping V-day weekend

Brett and I went camping for V-day weekend. This is our car loaded up and ready to go. We had a rental car at the time. It was a Chevy HHR. It worked pretty well, but don't think we will buy one.

Here is our dutch oven pizza. It was so good!

Here we are eating our pizza, salad, and drinks from McDonalds. And yes we are wearing head lamps.

On Saturday we went hiking and geo caching. Here we are finding "trackables".

We took a break to rest on our hike after finding another geo cache. This one was called turtle because the rocks look like a turtle shell.

We had Easy Cheese Meat and Potatoes for dinner, again it was so good. I'll have to do a short post on how to cook in a dutch oven.

Brett can prevent forest fires. You can too.

It was cold!

After finding another geo cache. This one stumped us pretty good.

Once again at another geo cache location. this one was in a "field" of rocks. The rocks were four and five feet tall and round. It was really amazing.

Well that was our weekend. We had a ton of fun and can't wait to camp this summer.

I got tagged a while back

Laura tagged a while back and I am just now getting around to it. You are supposed to go to your 4th folder of pictures and find the 4th photo and share it. Well I am one that has folders in folders in folders, so I kinda had to bend the rules a bit. Well here is it. Kinda sad I know. This is a picture of the salad Brett and I ate on our first night camping over V-day weekend. That would be ranch dressing on the salad. Really exciting, right?? But this reminds me that I never really shared pictures from our camping trip. I think I get to that right away.

Oh and the other part of being tagged is that you have to tag four of your friends. Well most of my blog friends have already done this, so I will spare you . . .

Twitter

Twitter - it is THE thing right now. You post your thought or you actions for all the world to see. It is just like a status on Facebook. I do not have a twitter account, nor do I think that I will get one any time soon. But if I did have a twitter account here what your might have seen today.

**I wish that I had a deep freeze. I would buy food on sale and freeze it.**
**I really really really want to eat a Rice Crispy Treat right now.**
**I really want to dip that Rice Crispy Treat in some chocolate.**
**I should have bought two bags of potting soil at Wal-Mart yesterday.**

#1 and #25

My first geo cache find was while we were on our honeymoon. I know we are a nerdy couple, but we were made for each other. I had looked on the geo caching web site before we left and I knew there were a few caches around the Big Cedar area. Brett logged them into his phone (it really a computer that can make phone calls) and we headed out. Once we got pretty close to the spot we parked and started hiking to find the cache. We had to "off road it" as Brett likes to call it and head off into the woods. I am deathly afraid of snakes so as I step off into the woods I say, "I hope we don't find any snakes." Brett spots the cache right away, but kindly lets me keep hunting for it. He knew what to look for and I was clueless. Once I finally spotedit I go running over towards it. I start to reach for a few pieces of wood that were covering it and I scream and jump back about three feet. There was a snake! A rubber snake!! It scared me to death. Brett just died laughing at me!!!! Once my heart rate came back down to normal I open the cache and log our visit to it. From then on I was hooked!

Our 25th find was at the cemetery where my Grandparents are buried. It will always be a special spot for me. They are buried at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Brett and I plan to go back down there with my mom in the next month or so. We will once again visit the cemetery where my Grandparents are buried and another cemetery where my Great-grandparents are. Also we plan to visit the Grant County Museum. My Great-Grandfather's home is a part of the museum. I have some vague memories of that place as a child so it is always fun to visit there again. And we will try to grab as many caches in Sheridan as we can.

Well that is story behind our #1 and #25. We found #35 today so we are making good progress.

Geocaching

I have mentioned before that Brett and I like to go geo caching. You might be wondering what in the world that is! I am here to educate you.

This a quote from http://www.geocaching.com/ : "Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment."

So that is geo caching in a nut shell. For us it means that we get to play with our GPS's, get out doors, spend time together, find neat stuff in neat locations, and most of all - competition! Brett and I are both competitive. We both try to find the spot first and I like to reach "mild stones" of getting 25, 50, 100 caches.

If you look on the right hand side of our blog you can see a geo caching status box. We are currently at 27 caches and counting. In the next post I will tell about our 1st cache and our 25th cache.

Precious is the death of a saint in the sight of the Lord.

My Grandma passed away last night. She has joined her parents and husband in praising our Lord forever. I am so glad she is no longer in pain, that she has been made whole and she is face to face with Christ. But my heart is heavy.

Fuzz

The trees outside my window at work are getting fuzzy. That means green leaves will soon be here. That also means yellow pollen will soon be here too. . .

There is also fuzz in my washer and dryer. I washed some of Grandma's clothes on Monday and among them was a little pillow. That pillow had a small hole in it, which got bigger as it went through the wash cycle. When I opened the lid to move things to the dryer there was while fuzz everywhere! The dryer got a good dose of it too. I have a feeling I'll be picking fuzz off of stuff for awhile. *sigh*

BOY!!!!

Little sisters always like to say that they were right! I have the best big brother in the world so I know this little guy will be a great big brother some day too.

Martin said the ultra sound went really well and that the baby looks very healthy. Ashlan's mom is visiting for the weekend and she got to see the baby. I am sure that was really special.

My mom and I are going to Duck Duck Goose this weekend. I have a feeling we will buy everything that is blue!

Boy or Girl?

Martin and Ashlan have an ultrasound tomorrow. We hope to find out if they are having a boy or a girl. I have this feeling that it is a boy - no real reason - just a feeling.

Grandma is doing better

My Grandma moved back to her regular room over the weekend. This means she is doing "better". It looks like she will not die right away, but is on a L-O-N-G, S-L-O-W path to "recovery". The thing is she laid in bed for two weeks, had a really, really bad infection and is weaker than she has ever been. This just means more work for my family and the nurses. She is completely unable to feed herself, she is not using her arms (is is able to, but for what ever reason she is not), she is basically not speaking. To be honest, I am just tired of this. My mom and I have been helping talk care of her for six years now. It has been a long hard six years. Grandma has very little quality of life right now and I don't expect her to gain much quality. It is no fun for her or us. This is just a hard thing to deal with . . .

Pray for my Grandma

My Grandma is very sick. Will you please pray that the Lord's will be done in her life. She will turn 96 this month and has had a wonderful life. Please pray for my family.
