The trees outside my window at work are getting fuzzy. That means green leaves will soon be here. That also means yellow pollen will soon be here too. . .
There is also fuzz in my washer and dryer. I washed some of Grandma's clothes on Monday and among them was a little pillow. That pillow had a small hole in it, which got bigger as it went through the wash cycle. When I opened the lid to move things to the dryer there was while fuzz everywhere! The dryer got a good dose of it too. I have a feeling I'll be picking fuzz off of stuff for awhile. *sigh*

It is a . . . .
BOY!!!!
Little sisters always like to say that they were right! I have the best big brother in the world so I know this little guy will be a great big brother some day too.
Martin said the ultra sound went really well and that the baby looks very healthy. Ashlan's mom is visiting for the weekend and she got to see the baby. I am sure that was really special.
My mom and I are going to Duck Duck Goose this weekend. I have a feeling we will buy everything that is blue!

Boy or Girl?
Martin and Ashlan have an ultrasound tomorrow. We hope to find out if they are having a boy or a girl. I have this feeling that it is a boy - no real reason - just a feeling.
Grandma is doing better
My Grandma moved back to her regular room over the weekend. This means she is doing "better". It looks like she will not die right away, but is on a L-O-N-G, S-L-O-W path to "recovery". The thing is she laid in bed for two weeks, had a really, really bad infection and is weaker than she has ever been. This just means more work for my family and the nurses. She is completely unable to feed herself, she is not using her arms (is is able to, but for what ever reason she is not), she is basically not speaking. To be honest, I am just tired of this. My mom and I have been helping talk care of her for six years now. It has been a long hard six years. Grandma has very little quality of life right now and I don't expect her to gain much quality. It is no fun for her or us. This is just a hard thing to deal with . . .

A Camping We Will Go
Brett and I are going camping this weekend. We are celebrating our birthdays and V-day all in one. We are going to spend two nights at Petite Jean. I am really looking forward to using our new tent, finding geo-cashes, and cooking on a camp fire. I am sure to have some great pictures.
Good News
With out going into all the details, we have been waiting for test results from some blood work that Martin had to do. This would give us some more info about the baby. We just heard from him and the test results were good. We can't wait to welcome a healthy baby in July!!!!
**Update** Brett just read over this post last night and he said it sounded like we were the ones having a baby. Let me make sure you understand that my brother and his wife are the ones expecting, not us!

The front bedroom
This is what the front bedroom used to look like. Brett and I nicknamed it the "death trap". It seemed like every time you walked in there a crashing sound would soon follow.

Half Way Around the World
I have a friend, a great friend, a best friend. She is currently half way around the world spending time with her best friend who is a boy (aka her husband). I miss her deeply. We are 15 hours apart and that makes it hard to talk on the phone. We have been able to talk some on facebook, but it just not the same.
I think the Lord knew that I needed to hear her voice. I received my wedding DVD's this weekend. They are wonderful. But I also received the most soft and warm blanket from this friend who is half way around the world. It is an early birthday present - like more than a month early.
So today while my best friend who is a boy (aka my husband) slept, I watched my wedding DVD and curled up with the softest blanket in the world. I saw my friend and I heard her voice. I cried, and cried and then cried some more. I am crying as I type this. I miss her so much. But it helped to see her even if it was on the screen of my lap top.
I saw her cry as I cried while saying my vows. I saw her read the Word of God and proclaim Truth over our marriage ceremony. I saw her throw birdseed at me - but not in a mean way! I saw her tuck my make up bag into the truck with out me even noticing. I saw her cry as we drove away and I cried back.
So as you read this my dear friend, sitting in a small dorm room on the other side of the world 15 hours ahead of me, know this. I love you. I miss you. I can not thank you enough for coming for a week to help me with the wedding. I don't know when I will hear your voice next, but know that I feel your love and warmth, even it is from a DVD and a soft blanket.

A little of this and that
The wedding thank you notes are finished! Just in time to start on Christmas and Brett's birthday thank you notes. (and before you say anything, yes Brett will write his own thank you notes for his birthday gifts).
We had a wonderful Christmas. We spent time with family and friends and food! Now January is here and we are trying to work off the holiday fun.
We are excited for our friends Josh and Erin. They got engaged in December and are getting married on March 21, 2009. Brett is the best man and I am a bride's maid.
We have done some work around the apartment. I have some pictures to show of Brett's handy man work. Also I have a new hair cut - pictures to come.
We wish you a wonderful 2009!
